No regrets

Coming soon, details of the two strapless boned dresses I made many many years ago - the Dick and Jane dress is from 2008 and the seersucker flowers from the early 2010s.

I am rarely nostalgic and even though I’ll never be able to fit into these again I am so glad I made them and love them to bits. Make things that you want when you can - don’t wait, just do. Buy the fabric, make the dress, who cares if you only wear it once? No regrets.

The Dick and Jane fabric is from Gardams when it used to be in the Brisbane CBD. I cut this out meticulously and then realised all the words were upside down. Luckily the bolt at the shop still had enough left when anxiety propelled me back there the next day. I still laugh out loud at the blatancy of the words. Did I wear this to a work function at some point? Probably. Yikes.

The seersucker is Japanese fabric from Tessuti. I also bought it in red. Tessuti used to get a lot of this type of fabric but it seems to be out of favour now, which is probably not a bad thing because I also have an addiction to buying fabric which has currently swerved towards linen but could very easily be swayed back to cottons.

I will fill in some details about the pattern etc shortly.
